Can I Wash My Quilt?

One of the most common questions I get is: Can I wash my quilt?

The answer is yes—absolutely!

My quilts are made to be loved, used, and washed. They’re designed for real life, not just display. With the right quilt care routine, your quilt will stay soft, beautiful, and long-lasting for years to come.

How to Wash and Dry a Quilt Properly

To keep your quilt in the best condition, it just takes a little extra care. Follow these simple quilt washing tips:

  1. Use a Mild or Fragrance-Free Detergent: Choose a gentle, mild, or fragrance-free detergent to protect the fabric and preserve the colors. Harsh detergents can wear down fibers over time.

  2. Wash on a Delicate Cycle: Always wash your quilt on the delicate or gentle cycle. This helps prevent stress on the stitching and keeps the quilt intact.

  3. Wash Quilts Separately or with Similar Items: Wash your quilt alone or with similar soft, lightweight items. Avoid washing with items that can snag like zippers or buttons.

  4. Use Low Heat or Air Dry: Use a low heat setting in the dryer or air dry your quilt for the gentlest option.

All of my quilts come with a care card attached, so you’ll always have these instructions on hand whenever you need them.
